'Cells at Work!! Season 2' and 'Cells at Work: Code Black' TV anime series will air back to back on January 9, 2021

The official Twitter of Akane Shimizu's "Cells at Work! (Hataraku Saibou!)" manga has announced on Monday that both 2nd season of the "Cells at Work!" TV anime series and the "Cells at Work!: Code Black" spin-off series will begin broadcasting back-to-back on January 9, 2021.

The second season of the "Cells at Work!" TV anime will premiere on January 9 at 11:30 p.m (JST) on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, YTV, and BS11, and will also broadcast in other local channels channels in Japan. The main staff at the animation studio David Production is returning for producing the second season, with the exception of director Kenichi Suzuki being replaced by director Hirofumi Ogura. The first season of the anime series run for 13 episodes from July to September 2018.
Meanwhile, the "Cells at Work!: Code Black" anime series will air right after the "Cells at Work!! 2nd season" broadcast at 12:00 AM (JST) on the same channels and is based on Shigemitsu Harada and Issei Hatsuyoshiya's "Cells at Work! Code Black Hataraku Saibō Black)" spinoff manga. LIDEN Films is in charge of the animation production. The series will be directed by Hideyo Yamamoto and Hayashi Mori is supervising and writing the scripts. In addition, Eiji Abiko will serve as the character designer, and Yūgo Kannois is the music composer. The cast includes: Kenn as Red Blood Cell, Lynn as White Bood Cell (Neutrophilic), Yumi Uchiyama as White Bood Cell (Neutrophilic), Takashi Narumi as Gastric Chief Cell and Yurika Kubo as Platelet.
Last September 2020, an anime film titled "Hataraku Saibō!!" Saikyō no Teki, Futatabi. Karada no Naka wa "Chō" Ōsawagi! premiered in Japanese theaters.
