Crunchyroll has revealed that the service currently has a fan-base of over 3 million subscribers, 50 million social followers and 9 million registered users worldwide. With the foreseen closure of the deal, the general manager of Crunchyroll Joanne Waage stated that the two services (Crunchyroll and Funimation) with its team will combine strength to provide an incredible art form of anime.
The article also stated that both Crunchyroll and Funimation will still operate independently until the deal closes.
It was recalled last October that news agency Nikkei Asia has reported that Sony might end up spending more than 100 billion yen (around Php 47 billion) but Sony also reported regarding the acquisition and revealed that the purchase price is US$1.175 Billion (around Php 60 billion).
