'Demon Slayer' anime film is now Taiwan's highest-grossing animated film of all time, surpasses Disney's Frozen 2

The website of Japanese anime news media Otakomu published a report on Tuesday that the anime film adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge's "Demon Slayer" series sequel titled "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie - Mugen Train" is now considered as the highest-grossing animated film of all time in Taiwan after its sales figures were revealed by the Taiwanese film distributor Muse Communication through media today.

As per Muse Communication, the film already reached the record-breaking sales of NT$360 million (about 1.318 billion yen) in just a span of 17 days since the film's opening in Taiwanese theaters last October 30. The film surpassed the NT$343 million sales of the previous title holder "Frozen 2" by Disney.
Taiwan is the first country to release the Demon Slayer film in cinemas outside Japan.
The film will be released in Southeast Asia by ODEX as early as November in selected countries and on early 2021 for the remaining SEA countries. It will also premiere in North American theaters as early as 2021 by Funimation and Aniplex of America.
