The official Twitter of animation studio Khara confirmed on Wednesday through a Twitter post that the final Evangelion film "Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon A Time (Shin Evangelion Gekijō-ban :||)" will NOT BE 6 HOURS LONG in opposition to the rumor circulating the internet. The studio revealed that the film is still currently in production.

The rumor started when Khara posted on Sunday a screenshot of a timecode of "05:59:50:00." from the latest "dailies" footage check of the movie's last part to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original Neon Genesis Evangelion TV series.
Khara explained in their latest post that movie productions usually divide the parts of a movie into rolls (or reels) starting with 1st roll with 1:00:00:00 and the "5:59:00:00" timecode posted is the 5th roll representing the film, not 5 hours and 59 minutes.
