"Godzilla Singular Point" anime series premieres April 2021 in Japan and worldwide on the same year via Netflix

Streaming platform-giant Netflix has revealed a key visual and trailer for the new TV anime adaptation franchise of the original Godzilla series titled "Godzilla Singular Point" during the Netflix Anime Festival 2020 held on Tuesday. The new Netflix original series will premiere on Tokyo MX and other channels in April 2021 in Japan and later worldwide via Netflix.

The animation production of the series will be a collaboration between animation studio BONES and Orange to merge the hand-drawn and CG animation styles for the series. Atsushi Takahashi is directing the series with Toh Enjoe supervising and writing the scripts. The music will be composed by Kan Sawada and Blue Exorcist creator Kazue Katō is drafting the original character designs. Studio Ghibli character designer Eiji Yamamori will be in charge of the Kaiju monsters' design.
The story will follows "the young geniuses Mei Kamino, a female researcher, and Yun Arikawa, a male engineer, as they take on an unprecedented threat with their companions."
The Godzilla franchise was recognized by Guinness World Records to be the longest continuously running movie franchise, having been in ongoing production from 1954 to the present day, with several hiatuses of varying lengths. It was created and owned by Toho, centered on the fictional kaiju character Godzilla. The film franchise consists of 36 films, 32 produced by Toho and four American films: one film produced by TriStar Pictures and three films produced by Legendary Pictures.
