According to the police, the actor admitted to the allegations and quoted his statement saying "It is true that I left the scene after hitting a bike (motorcycle)."

The incident happened in an intersection in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, causing injury to a woman who suffered a broken bone in her left leg and a man with bruises on his left arm, the police said. The actor was unhurt and immediately left the scene without offering help to the victims. Fortunately, another driver witnessed the incident and followed him several hundred meters to give an advice to the actor who returned to the scene afterwards.

Ito's agency reached its apology through their website saying their talent "had a collision with a bike due to carelessness. We offer a deep apology for causing great trouble to fans and the people concerned."

Kentaro Ito, a Tokyo native, started his career as an advertising model at age 14 and as an actor at 17. He is notable on playing the roles in various films and TV drama series including the character of Shunsuke Imaizumi in the live-action film adaptation of "Yowamushi Pedal: Up The Road" released last August 2020, as Takao Kasuga in "The Flowers of Evil (Aku no Hana)" in 2019, as Tomoki Nakano in the 2-part film Sagrada Reset in 2017, and many more.

He also received different awards including his winning in the Japan Academy award for his role in the 2018 movie "Kohi ga Samenai Uchi ni" (Cafe Funiculi Funicula).
