The agency published an announcement on their website early Sunday that Shigeaki Kato had a fever of 37.7° C since Saturday morning and immediately undergone PCR test on the same day which turned out positive.
Following Kato being infected by the virus, the agency decided to conduct the same test to other NEWS band members and the manager in charge as they are all close contacts with Kato. Similarly on the same day, among the other members, Koyama was confirmed to be positive.
Koyama does not have a fever, but has cough, headache, and malaise as symptoms. Both members are in good condition and still under close monitoring with the supervision and advice of the health officials.
The incident has prompted the agency to postponed the upcoming NEWS distribution live of "NEWS LIVE TOUR 2020 STORY" scheduled for December 12 and 13. The agency will be announcing a separate notice to the fans who already purchased the tickets.
