Eiichiro Oda confirms that the 'series ends in 4 to 5 years' in a recent interview, "ending is already decided" he added

During his recent interview with Japanese megaband Arashi, for their show Arashi Tsu Bo on Thursday, One Piece manga creator Eiichiro Oda confirms that the hit manga series is about to end in 4 to 5 years. He also stated that ending of the series has been finalized and the editors already being informed on how the series will end. One of the editors commented saying the ending was "awesome".

It was recalled that in a YouTube video published September 2019, Oda reported that he "wants to end it in five years." - pertaining to the One Piece story.
With the release of the 35th Issue of this year's Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump magazine teased last August 3, it was revealed that the series is already "headed toward the upcoming final arc". This teaser was included in an advertisement in the magazine for the upcoming One Piece Magazine volume 10 that will be released on September 4. No other specific details were revealed.
The 10th volume of the One Piece Magazine will focus on a theme of going back through the manga to "prepare for the climax." and it will also start Boichi's adaptation of the One Piece: Ace's Story novels.
As of writing, the manga series already have 974 chapters published under 96 volumes. One Piece manga was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump manga on July 19, 1997.
