'One Piece' manga series takes a 2-week break due to Eiichiro Oda's "sudden illness", manga resumes October 17

The official Twitter of Weekly Shounen JUMP Magazine's editorial department has announced on Friday that the manga series will not appear on the next two issues of the magazine starting this week due to Eiichiro Oda's "sudden illness". The manga will return on the 46th issue for release on October 17.

The editorial department stated that due to Oda's "sudden illness" and poor physical health, the manga will not appear in the 44th issue of the magazine that will be shipped on Monday, October 5, as well on the 45th issue to be released next week. They also added that Oda is currently recovering.
One Piece manga was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump manga on July 19, 1997.
