Excerpt from Japan Foundation Manila's FB Page:
"In view of the current "Public Health Emergency / Enhanced Community Quarantine" due to the COVID-19, please be advised that the schedule for the December 6, 2020 Japanese Language Proficiency Test has been CANCELED.

The Japan Foundation, Manila and host institutions (The Japanese Association Cebu, Inc.; Cagayan de Oro College-PHINMA Education Network; and Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku in Davao City) discussed/evaluated and reached unanimous conclusion that it would be difficult to host the JLPT in December under the current circumstances.

Thank you very much for your understanding and we hope that everyone stays safe and well during this difficult situation.

The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, or JLPT, is a standardized criterion-referenced test to evaluate and certify Japanese language proficiency for non-native speakers, covering language knowledge, reading ability, and listening ability.

The test is held twice a year in Japan and selected countries (on the first Sunday of July and December), and once a year in other regions (on the first Sunday of December).

The JLPT consists of five levels: N5 to N1 with N1 being the highest level of certification.Until 2009, the test had four levels. JLPT certificates do not expire or become invalid over time.
