'Re:Zero Season 2' 2nd cour new key visual revealed, anime set to premiere on January 6, 2021

The official Twitter for the TV anime adaptation of Tappei Nagatsuki's Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World has announced on Thursday that the second cour (half) of the series' 2nd season will be premiering on January 6, 2021 in Japan. A new key visual was also revealed.

The cast and staff will reprise their roles for the second season. The series is animated and produced by animation studio White Fox. It is directed by Masaharu Watanabe and written by Masahiro Yokotani, with Kyuta Sakai is serving as both character designer and as chief animation director. Kenichiro Suehiro is composing the series' music with Jin Aketagawa handled sound direction for the anime, and sound effects were produced by Yuji Furuya. Kentaro Minegishi is the series' director of photography, and Yoshito Takamine serves as art director.
The series which is based on the Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shin'ichirō Ōtsuka was initially serialized on the website Shōsetsuka ni Narō from 2012 onwards.
The first season of the TV anime series adaptation was aired from April 4, 2016 to Sep 19, 2016 which consisted of 25 episodes. The second season was announced on March 23, 2019 and later announced to be in a split-cour. The first cour was originally announced to premiere in April 2020 but was later delayed to July due to the effects in production brought by the new coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). It was aired from July 8 to September 30, 2020 with 13 episodes.
