"Violet Evergarden: The Movie" earns 1.1 billion yen on its 3rd week in cinemas with 781,817 total tickets sold since opening

The official Twitter of Violet Evergarden reported on Monday (Oct. 5) that Kyoto Animation's animated film "Violet Evergarden: The Movie" has sold a total of 781,817 tickets with a box office revenue amounting to over 1.1 billion yen (US$10.58 million) since the film's opening in Japanese theaters last September 18. The report also stated that film had the highest per-screen average in Japanese theaters for three consecutive weeks now.

The "Violet Evergarden: The Movie" film is based on the light novel series by Kana Akatsuki, who won the"5th Kyoto Animation Awards" grand prize. The story follows Violet Evergarden, who once fought as a soldier, and becomes an automatic doll that captures the wishes of her clients and puts them into words, touching the emotions of various clients and understanding the hearts of the people.
The film is yet to release outside Japan.
