In the statement, it was revealed that the department will immediately cancel and cease publication of the 'act-age' manga series starting the next issue of their Weekly Shounen JUMP Magazine. The editorial department also stated that they took the situation very seriously, confirmed the facts, and had a discussion with Shiro Usazaki, artist of the series.
Tatsuya Matsuki (29), the creator of the ongoing manga series "act-age", has been arrested on Saturday, Aug 8, by The Metropolitan Police Department for committing an indecent act against two female students in different incidents, as reported by NHK.
The first incident occurred on June 18, around 8pm on the street of Nakano Ward when Matsuki reportedly touched and harassed a junior high school girl of around 12-15 years of age and fled by bicycle. An hour later of the same day, another female junior high school student on a nearby street suffered similar harassment by a person that looked like Matsuki.
The second incident was later confirmed after the police received a report of the first incident, and analyzed security camera footage coming to the conclusion that the incidents was connected and indeed committed by Matsuki. He admitted to the charges himself afterwards.
