The first wave of promotional materials have been released for an upcoming TV anime adaptation of Katarina's web novel series Shangri-La Frontier, slated to air in 2023. The anime will be produced by C2C.

A game adaptation will be developed and published by Netmarble Nexus. Additional details to follow in future announcements.

Below is the teaser visual for the announcement.

The story of Shangri-La Frontier takes place in a near future wherein full-dive virtual reality (VR) games have become the norm. As a result, there also exist many so-called "trash games" which are glitchy and have not kept up with VR technology.

Trash game hunter Rakuro Hizutome (CV: Yuma Uchida) is burnt out from playing trash games. This motivates him to try the full-dive VR game "Shangri-La Frontier" as the player character Sunraku, where all the skills he has attained as an expert trash game hunter will come in handy as he progresses in the game.
