A teaser video has been released for upcoming comedy anime Phantom of the Idol, scheduled to air in Summer 2022.
The show will be animated by Studio Gokumi. It will be directed by Daisei Fukuoka.
Phantom of the Idol began as a Japanese comedy manga series by Hijiki Isoflavone. It tells the story of boy idol duo Yūya Niyodo (CV: Fumiya Imai) and Kazuki Yoshino (CV: Shun Horie). While Kazuki is a highly popular and hardworking performer, Yūya is the total opposite and is always slacking off. But one day, he meets the ghost of a girl named Asahi Mogami (CV: Nao Tōyama). Asahi finds she is able to take over Yūya's body, thus giving her a new chance to perform.
The theme song will be sung by main idol group ZINGS, namely the voice actors for Yūya and Kazuki.
