'Re:cycle of the Penguindrum' anime film releases trailer for April 2022 premiere

The 2-part anime film is a compilation of the 24-episode TV anime with additional new scenes.

The Mawaru Penguindrum series by Kunihiko Ikuhara and Takayo Ikami is celebrating its 10th anniversary with an anime film project called Re:cycle of the Penguindrum.

Re:cycle of the Penguindrum is a compilation film of the 24-episode TV anime that aired in 2011, with additional new scenes.

Part 1 of the film, 「君の列車は生存戦略」 (Romaji: Kimi no ressha ha seizon senryaku, Literal English: Your train is a survival strategy), will premiere on April 29, 2022 while part 2 will follow some time within this year.

For part 1 of the film, the original opening themes from the 2011 anime will make their return, namely Nornir and Boys, Come Back to Me, both performed by Etsuko Yakushimaru.

For part 2, the theme song will be 「僕の存在証明」 (Romaji: Boku no sonzai shoumei, English: The Proof of My Existence), a new song for the album Yakushimaru Metro Orchestra, also by Etsuko Yakushimaru.

The voice acting cast from the original 2011 anime by Brain's Base will also make their return. Seiyuu Sumire Uesaka joins them in the film as the Purinchu penguin.
