It has been one year and three months since the official Twitter for MAPPA's "YURI!!! on ICE" anime series releases a promotional video (PV) for the announced anime film project for the figure skating sports franchise under the working title "YURI!!! on ICE: Ice Adolescence".
As of writing this article the official site for the film states that the project is still ongoing production and the release date will be revealed soon.

The production of "YURI!!! on ICE the movie: ICE ADOLESCENCE"is still ongoing with the aim of further enriching the film. However, we have not yet reached the stage where we can announce the release date.
Our team will continue to work diligently to deliver a film and share our unwavering love and dedication for skating. We deeply apologize to all fans for the circumstance and ask for your generous understanding.

The PV teaser trailer was originally released as a part of a Yuri on Ice marathon event in Japan on January 17, 2019 and it was released to the public on November 26, 2020 via YouTube. The trailer features young Viktor Nikiforov performing at the Winter Olympic Games.
The film was originally announced on April 29, 2017 at the Yuri!!! on Stage exhibition event with its film's title, Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence (Yuri!!! on Ice Gekijō-ban: Ice Adolescence) announced a year after on July 1, 2018 at the Yuri!!! on Concert event.
It was originally scheduled to be released in 2019, but it has been delayed to another, currently unknown release date.
MAPPA is returning to animate the film with the primary production staff from the Yuri on Ice anime series also returns for the production, including series creators Sayo Yamamoto and Mitsurō Kubo as the film's director and screenwriter, respectively. The character designs are handled by Tadashi Hiramatsu based on the original designs of Kubo. The music is composed by Taro Umebayashi and Taku Matsushiba with the music production by Keisuke Tominaga.
