Romance is a popular genre in anime and even shows whose main genre isn't romance tend to have elements of it. Love is a tale as old as time and we can all use some warm fuzzy feelings to get through our day.
This time, we feature seven anime couples who prove that love can be real and long-lasting. We couldn't be any happier that they ended up together. Join us as we drown in happy feels.
1. Edward Elric and Winry Rockbell (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Edward and Winry are proof that yes, you can end up together with your childhood friend. Winry has been with Ed through many of his major life phases, including the tragic ones. In addition to Alphonse, Winry is Ed's source of support (both figuratively and literally since she created his artificial arm and leg!). And with that solid confession based on equivalent exchange, we couldn't be happier that these two are sharing their lives together. Now THAT'S alchemy.

2. Syaoran Li and Sakura Kinomoto (Cardcaptor Sakura)
Since the Cardcaptor Sakura (CCS) series has an extensive collection of anime episodes, films, manga chapters, etc., viewers get to enjoy both the subtle and action-packed moments that contributed to the development of this couple. Syaoran initially looked down on Sakura, seeing her as unworthy of becoming the new master of the Clow Cards. But through a combination of good and trying times, Sakura and Syaoran become partners in battle, to friends, to more than friends. Fans will definitely agree that this show was just as much about Sakura and Syaoran's relationship as it was about collecting the Clow Cards.
And you know what makes Sakura and Syaoran extra special as a couple? They cross over universes too! While the extensive CCS series already gives us fans more SakuraxSyaoran content than we could ask for, you will also see them in Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE! You're in for a treat as Sakura and Syaoran prove that they will never stop finding each other, and that they'll travel the whole universe to do it.
3. Lelouch vi Britannia and C.C. (Code Geass)
Now this is definitely a power couple. Lelouch and C.C. are both extremely powerful characters in the Code Geass universe. They have their own respective goals and no reservations on pursuing them. This often makes them butt heads, but at the end of day, they reassure each other that they're not backing out of the situation, no matter how complicated it is. Lelouch and C.C. show us that being powerful doesn't have to be lonely, because you deserve an equally amazing partner by your side.

4. Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura (Horimiya)
To be honest, Hori-san and Miyamura are the high school #couplegoals. They hang out as friends, bond with each other's families (well, more of Miyamura practically living with the Hori family), and are romantically intimate. Best couple? Yes, best couple. Both the anime and manga make sure you don't doubt it's Hori-san and Miyamura until the end.
5. Yuri Katsuki and Victor Nikiforov (Yuri!!! on Ice)
Featuring the kiss that broke the Internet: Yuri Katsuki and Victor Nikiforov. We say Studio MAPPA was brave to have featured a same-sex couple, and they did it with great character development for both Yuri and Victor. Yuri began his figure skating idolizing and chasing after Victor. Meanwhile, Victor was at the peak of his career and gradually losing inspiration. In the end, Yuuri stands as Victor's equal, and Victor finds his reason to keep skating through Yuri. Talk about the love of your life supporting your goals.
6. Kyo Sohma and Tohru Honda (Fruits Basket)
Among the many adorable anime couples who end up together, Kyo and Tohru's story in Fruits Basket is probably one of the most rewarding. Since Fruits Basket places strong emphasis on the emotional intimacy of human relationships, we got to see Kyo and Tohru develop from total strangers, to friends, to being each other's most precious person. And you all know just how difficult that was for majority of the characters in the series.
7. Haruhi Fujioka and Tamaki Suoh (Ouran High School Host Club)
Haruhi and Tamaki start out as that dense couple who stays completely platonic for the longest time before they realize they want to be more than just friends (and yes, their friends realize it first). They were seriously one of the ultimate couples of the 2000s. Just like their friends, we're happy they finally, FINALLY confessed.
