Science SARU's upcoming anime film Inu-Oh has released a 60-second trailer ahead of its premiere in Japan on May 28, 2022.
This trailer features a performance between the leading characters Inu-Oh and Tomona. Japanese musician Avu-chan plays the part of Inu-Oh while Japanese actor Mirai Moriyama stars as Tomona.
Inu-Oh is directed by Masaaki Yuasa with screenplay by Akiko Nogi.
The film is based on the novel Tales of the Heike: INU-OH by Hideo Furukawa and focuses on the friendship between Inu-Oh, a dancer born with unique physical characteristics, and Tomona, a blind musician who plays the biwa.
The film first premiered at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on Sept. 9, 2021. It was the first Japanese hand-drawn animated film to screen in competition in the festival's Horizons category.
