The official Twitter for the anime series "Ano Hana: The Flower We Saw That Day (Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai)" has announced during the Anime Japan 2021 event held on Sunday that a new project for the hit tear-jerker anime is on the way to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of the franchise. It was also revealed that a special event will commence on August 28 as part of the celebration. More details will be revealed in the future according to the post.
A special '10 years after' illustration visual drawn by the Super Peace Buster, an artist collective consisting of director Tatsuyuki Nagai, screenwriter Mari Okada, and character designer Masayoshi Tanaka, was revealed.
It was noted that in the anime's theme song "Kimi ga Kureta Mono", there is a line that states "Juunengo no hachigatsu mata dearu no o shinjite (I believe we will meet again 10 years after in August)", which exactly pertains to this year in August.
The original anime series is animated and produced by A-1 Pictures and Fuji TV consisting of 11 episodes which was aired from April 14 to June 23, 2011 on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block. It was created by the Super Peace Busters, an artist collective consisting of director Tatsuyuki Nagai, screenwriter Mari Okada, and character designer Masayoshi Tanaka.
Mari Okada serialized the series into a novel in Media Factory's Da Vinci magazine from March to July 2011 and a manga adaptation with art by Mitsu Izumi was then serialized in the May 2012 issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine.

The anime also inspired a visual novel developed by Guyzware for the PlayStation Portable with publisher 5pb on August 30, 2012. It was also adapted into a live-action film by Fuji TV on September 15, 2015.
