As mentioned previously, the TV anime for Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 is scheduled to air in spring (April 2022). This time, official channels have released a character video of Myne (CV: Yuka Iguchi)!

In the character video, Myne greets viewers with a "Long time no see!" and gives a recap of the story's plot. She also talks about a new family member she's incredibly fond of.

About

Ascendance of a Bookworm (Japanese: 本好きの下剋上 ~司書になるためには手段を選んでいられません~, Romaji: Honzuki no Gekokujō: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan o Erandeiraremasen) is a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Miya Kazuki and illustrated by Yū Shiina. It was serialized online between September 2013 and March 2017 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was later acquired by TO Books, who has published 27 volumes since January 2015.

A manga adaptation of the first part with art by Suzuka was serialized online via Niconico Seiga website between October 2015 and July 2018. It was collected in seven tankōbon volumes by TO Books.

An anime television series adaptation by Ajia-do Animation Works premiered the first part from Oct. 3 to Dec. 26, 2019, with the second part airing from Apr. 5 to Jun. 21, 2020. A two-part OVA episode released on Mar. 10, 2020.

Synopsis from MAL:

Urano Motosu loves books and has an endless desire to read literature, no matter the subject. She almost fulfills her dream job of becoming a librarian before her life is ended in an accident. As she draws her last breath, she wishes to be able to read more books in her next life.

As if fate was listening to her prayer, she wakes up reincarnated as Myne—a frail five-year-old girl living in a medieval era. What immediately comes to her mind is her passion. She tries to find something to read, only to become frustrated by the lack of books at her disposal.

Without the printing press, books have to be written and copied by hand, making them very expensive; as such, only a few nobles can afford them—but this won't stop Myne. She will prove that her will to read is unbreakable, and if there are no books around, she will make them herself!
