'Ascendance of a Bookworm' Season 3 TV anime announces Spring 2022 broadcast, reveals key visual

The third season of the TV anime adaptation of Miya Kazuki and Yū Shiina's "Ascendance of a Bookworm (Honzuki no Gekokujō: Shisho ni Naru Tame niwa Shudan o Erandeiraremasen)" light novel series has been announced on Friday to begin broadcasting in Spring 2022. A key visual was revealed to commemorate the broadcast decision along with a mobile wallpaper version of the visual.

Emiko Endo returns to serve as the chief animation director along side with Noriko Otake. Toshihisa Kaiya and Yoshiaki Yanagida, who both previously the chief animation directors are credited for the character designs with the newly-announced staff Haruka Matsunae.

All main cast members are returning from previous seasons. Different comments from the cast members were also posted by its official Twitter account.

The 'Ascendance of a Bookworm' anime series is based on the Japanese light novel series of the same title written by Miya Kazuki and illustrated by Yuu Shiina. It was serialized from September 2013 and March 2017 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou. Acquired by TO Books soon after, it has been collected into 27 tankōbon volumes as of writing with the first volume was published in January 2015.

Ascendance of a Bookworm follows the life of college student and aspiring librarian Motosu Urano who is transported to another world after an unfortunate accident. When she is reborn as Main, the daughter of a poor soldier, she makes it her mission to make books more freely available to everyone in this new world.
