The comic section of the Japanese online magazine Natalie has reported on Tuesday that Hajime Isayama's "Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin)" manga series is going to end soon with its final chapter releasing on April 9, 2021 in the May 2021 Issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. Based on the report, the announcement was revealed through a completion teaser image published by the editorial department of the series.

A comment from Isayama reads:

"I've said eight years ago that it (manga) will be over in three years, and it seems that I can finally finish it.
It's been a long time, but I hope you'll stay with us until the end.
It wasn't extended to the editorial department at all, but rather it was the last years of being rushed to "when will it end".
I'm sorry, it's finally over.
I will do my best for the final chapter so that you will be glad that you have read it that far." - Hajime Isayama

Illustrated and written by Isayama, the Attack on Titan manga series has been serialized in Kodansha's monthly Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine since September 2009 and collected into 32 tankōbon volumes as of September 2020. The 33rd volume will ship starting on January 8, 2021 and the final 34th volume will be released on June 9 of the same year.

Attack on Titan has become a critical and commercial success. As of December 2019, the manga has over 100 million tankōbon copies in print worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time.

It is set in a world where humanity lives within cities surrounded by enormous walls that protect them from gigantic man-eating humanoids referred to as Titans; the story follows Eren Yeager, who vows to retake the world after a Titan brings about the destruction of his home town and the death of his mother.
