The official Twitter for the original TV anime series "Bakuten!! (Backflip!!)" has announced on Friday that the original anime sports series is receiving an anime film adaptation. The announcement was made through a production decision promotional video streamed on Fuji TV's Noitamina official YouTube channel after the final episode of the TV anime series has aired in Japan. No other information was revealed as of writing.
The original TV anime series was aired from April 8 to June 25, 2021 consisting of 12 episodes. It was animated by ZEXCS with Toshimasa Kuroyanagi serving as the series director. Toshizo Nemoto was in charge of series composition and scripts. The original character designs were drawn by My Little Monster manga creator Robico with Yuuki Shibata for the animation character designs and served as the animation director.

In 2021, which marks the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake, the series will be produced as part of "Zutto Ouen. Project 2011 + 10 ..." together with "Misaki no Mayoiga" and "Hula Fulla Dance", which delivers three anime works set in the disaster area.
The story follows a high school rhythmic gymnastics team in the city of Iwanuma located in Miyagi prefecture. Shōtarō Futaba who is fascinated by gymnastics joins the rhythmic gymnastics team of his new high school Sōshūkan High School, nicknamed "Ao High." He makes a friend with his schoolmate Ryōya Misato, who earned fame as a gymnast during middle school.
