The official Twitter account for Bushiroad's mixed-media project titled "Road59" has revealed on Saturday that the project is receiving a manga series adaptation under the title "Road59: The Special Ward for a New Era of Chivalry (Road59: Shin Jidai Ninkyō Tokku)". The manga is billed as the first manga in the project and is scheduled to be serialized in Bushiroad's Monthly Bushiroad magazine in Spring 2021.

Illustrator Gidora works on the character design of the project is penning the manga. The original Road59 project was announced last September 25, 2020 during a live stream at the Tokyo Game Show 2020. The project centers around the conflicts between four yakuza groups. “Argonavis from BanG Dream!” Nobuhiro Mōri is credited as the original story and series composition. The cast members include actors Yuki Kimisawa, Shuya Sunagawa, Masahiro Inoue, and voice actor Shouta Aoi. Actor Masaki Kyomoto also did join the original project.

The project is set in the sleepless Tenkai Ward of Tokyo, which is ruled by four yakuza groups. The underground of Tenkai Ward sealed a mysterious power known as “The head of Yamata No Orochi.” Legends said that those who drink the blood of “The head of Yamata No Orochi” can obtain the power of God. The battles of the four groups begin when a girl, who is reincarnated as the “key” to break the seal, wanders into this dangerous world.

It is Bushiroad's fourth major mixed-media project after BanG Dream!, Revue Starlight, and D4DJ.
