'Chainsaw Man' Part 2 manga series covering School Arc starts early Summer 2022

The official Twitter of Shihei Lin (Rin), Chainsaw Man's editor, has revealed on Saturday right after the series' stage presentation at the JUMP FESTA 2022 that the continuation of the Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga referred to as 'Part 2' is starting its serialization in Summer 2022 on the Shounen JUMP+ App. The sequel of the manga will cover the School Arc of the story.

In addition, it was also revealed that the manga series has reached 12 million copies in circulation.

On this day also, the previously-announced TV anime series adaptation of the hit-manga series has been scheduled for 2022 broadcasting. The series is animated by animation studio MAPPA. Read more here.

The action-horror fiction and dark fantasy manga series "Chainsaw Man" written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since December 2018. Its chapters have been collected in nine tankōbon volumes as of November 2020. It is also published by Shueisha on the Manga Plus online platform. The manga series was recently hailed as the Best Manga in the Male Demographic category by Kono Manga ga Sugoi's 2021 Ranking published on December 2020.


As of December 2021, the manga had over 12 million copies in circulation. Chainsaw Man has been overall well received by critics, who have highlighted its storytelling, violent scenes and dark humor.
