It was announced at the JUMP FESTA 2022 event that Koyoharu Gotouge's hit manga series Demon Slayer (Romaji: Kimetsu no Yaiba) is inspiring a Noh-Kyōgen theater adaptation by the Mansaku no Kai performance group. The performances will be held in Tokyo (Summer 2022) and Osaka (Winter 2022).

Noh (能, Nō) is a major form of classical Japanese dance-drama that has been performed since the 14th century. It is often based on tales from traditional literature with a supernatural being transformed into human form as a hero narrating a story. Emotions are primarily conveyed by stylized conventional gestures while the iconic masks represent the roles such as ghosts, women, deities, and demons.
Kyōgen (狂言) is a form of traditional Japanese comic theater. It developed alongside Noh and was performed along with Noh as an intermission of sorts between Noh acts on the same stage; therefore, it is sometimes designated as Noh-kyōgen. Its contents are nevertheless not at all similar to the formal, symbolic, and solemn Noh theater. Kyōgen is a comic form, and its primary goal is to make its audience laugh.
Demon Slayer (Japanese: 鬼滅の刃, Romaji: Kimetsu no Yaiba) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. It follows teenage Tanjiro Kamado, who strives to become a demon slayer after his family was slaughtered and his younger sister Nezuko turned into a demon. It was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, with its chapters collected in 23 tankōbon volumes. It has been published in English by Viz Media and simultaneously published by Shueisha on their Manga Plus platform.
A 26-episode TV anime series adaptation produced by Ufotable aired in Japan from April to September 2019. A sequel film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, was released in October 2020. A second season of the anime series, readapting the "Mugen Train" arc seen in the film and covering the "Entertainment District" arc from the manga, premiered in October 2021.
