Edens Zero takes place in the Grand Shiki Cosmos, a fictional space-faring universe inhabited by humans, aliens, and sentient robots. All technology in the series runs on a magical power source called Ether.

Protagonist Shiki Granbell (CV: Takuma Terashima) is a human Ether Gear user who lives among robots on the planet Granbell, a deserted theme park world in the Sakura Cosmos. After the park's robots force Shiki, Rebecca Bluegarden (CV: Mikako Komatsu), and Happy (CV: Rie Kugimiya) off the planet, the three set out to explore the universe by searching for Mother, the fabled goddess of the cosmos.

In the process, Shiki acquires the interstellar warship Edens Zero as inheritance from his grandfather figure, the mechanical Demon King Ziggy (CV: Hōchū Ōtsuka), who captained the ship during a previous voyage.

Edens Zero (stylized as EDENS ZERO) is a Japanese science fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. It has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine since June 2018.

Season 1 of the TV anime adaptation was produced by J.C.Staff and it aired from April to October 2021.
