A new anime original, a collaboration between Adult Swim and Crunchyroll, has just dropped the first episode of the anime on YouTube.

The series is titled "Fena: Pirate Princess" and is an original title that tells the story of Fena Houtman, a young woman who must learn the secrets of her past and find her freedom. The full synopsis of the anime is as follows (courtesy of My Anime List):

"The series tells the tale of a young orphan girl, Fena Houtman. Fena has been raised on an Island where there is no hope of becoming anything more than chattel, to be used and discarded by soldiers of the British Empire. But Fena is more than just another powerless orphan. When her mysterious past comes knocking, Fena will break the chains of her oppressors. Her goal: forge a new identity, free of bondage, and search for a place where she can truly belong and find out the true mysteries behind a keyword 'Eden.'

It is the story of a lifetime adventure she and her crew of misfits and unlikely allies will have, in pursuit of her goals!"

The series is produced by Production I.G. and includes Kazuto Nakazawa as director (known prior for their work in "B: The Beginning"). Screenplay is written by Asako Kuboyama ("Moriarty the Patriot") and music by Yuki Kajiura (known for her work in "Demon Slayer" and "Puella Magi Madoka Magica"). The song "Umi to Shinjuu" by JUNNA has been chosen for the opening, and "Saihate" by Minori Suzuki as the ending theme. Adult Swim and Crunchyroll also serve as producers for the series.

On August 27, the Japanese character promotional video was dropped, that featured small introductions to the different characters in the series, and featured new scenes to the anime. On August 28, the first, full English dubbed episode of "Fena: Pirate Princess" was released to the Adult Swim YouTube channel.
