Historical fantasy manga 'The Tale of the Outcasts' announces anime adaptation

The story revolves around orphan girl Wisteria who meets the immortal being Marbas.

Official accounts have opened to announce an anime adaptation for Makoto Hoshino's historical fantasy manga The Tale of the Outcasts (Romaji: Nokemono-tachi no Yoru).


No release date for the anime has been announced as of writing. Below is the teaser visual reflected across the official accounts and website.

The series stars orphan girl Wisteria living in a corner of the British Empire at the end of the 19th century. She leads a poor and desolate life until she meets Marbas, a powerful but equally lonely immortal being with a furry appearance, hounded by hunters.


The Tale of the Outcasts (Japanese: ノケモノたちの夜, Romaji: Nokemono-tachi no Yoru) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Makoto Hoshino. It was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday from August 2019 to April 2021, with its chapters collected in eight tankōbon volumes. The series is licensed for English release in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment.
