Japanese actor Kento Hayashi, 30, and actress-former AKB48 member Yuko Oshima, 32, have announced on Thursday through joint and individual official statements that they are getting married after a year of dating.
The two became closer when they both starred in the serial television novel "Scarlet" which aired from September 2019 to March 2020 and the drama "Kyojo" which aired last January 2020.
On the official joint statement by their agency, the two stated, (rough translation):
"We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to all of you for the continued health despite the heat. We would like to express our sincerest gratitude for your continued support.
We are pleased to inform you that we, Kento Hayashi and Yuko Oshima, are getting married.
We will continue to devote ourselves to everything seriously without forgetting our feelings for everyone. We look forward to your continued guidance and encouragement.
And I pray from the bottom of my heart that the spread of the new coronavirus will end as soon as possible and that everyone will have a healthy living.

Kento Hayashi's Statement:

I would like to report that I, Kento Hayashi, have decided to be married with Yuko Oshima.
I became an actor at the age of 15, and I have realized I had spent half my life as an actor.
To all people who have been supporting me since my debut, people who have come to know me and have an interest in something, and people who are always supported by everyone's existence, step by step with the warm words that they deliver...
Thank you very much.
In the future, I will take even more responsibility and determination, face everything seriously, and devote myself every day.
I would appreciate it if you could watch over me warmly.
The world will continue to be in a difficult situation, but I sincerely hope that the day will come when everyone can live with peace of mind."
Kento Hayashi was born on December 6, 1990 in Shiga, Japan. He has appeared in more than 30 films since 2007 including his film debut in "The Battery" as Takumi Harada, "Dive!!" as Tomoki Sakai, "Bitter Sweet" as Nagisa Katayama, "Soap Bubble" as Izumi, "Cherry Boys" as Shin'ichi Kunimori, and the recent films "Parasite in Love" as Kengo Kōsaka, and "Inubu: The Dog Club" as Sōta Hanai, and many more.
He also appeared in different TV drama series including as Norihisa Hyuga in "High & Low The Story of S.W.O.R.D.", as Tokunaga in "Hibana: Spark", and the recent drama series "Our Sister's Soulmate" as Manato Yoshioka.
He was awarded as the Newcomer of the Year at the 31st Japan Academy Film Prize held in 2008 for his role in the film "Battery", and Best Supporting Actor at the 22nd Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix in 2019 for his role in the drama "Ossan's Love".
Yuko Oshima's Statement:

Yuko Oshima was born on October 17, 1988 in Tochigi, Japan. She is currently working as an actress but was a former member of Japanese idol girl group AKB48, of which she was the captain of Team K. In addition to the singles that involved the rock-paper-scissors tournaments, she sang on the title tracks for all of AKB48's singles since "Aitakatta" in October 2006. She placed among the top two of the annual AKB48 general elections from 2009 to 2013. Oshima is currently represented with Ohta Production.
While doing stints for the idol group, she was an active actress who starred in many film and dramas including in "Teketeke" 1 & 2 as Kana Ōhashi, "Romance" as Hachiko Hojo, "All the Things We Never Said" as Natsumi, "The Great Yokai War: Guardians" as Yuki-onna, "Tomorrow's Dinner Table" as Youko, and many more.
