The official Twitter of the TV anime adaptation of Paru Itagaki's "BEASTARS" manga series has released a preview video featuring the ending theme song performed by Japanese music duo YOASOBI for the second season of the BEASTARS anime series which premiered earlier today in Japan. The announcement also stated that Itagaki's newly written novel titled "Leonids Meteor Shower" is now available on the BEASTARS website.
BEASTARS fans were surprised that not only the opening theme was performed by the music duo, but also the ending theme through a surprise reveal during the last sequence if the first episode of the newest season. The ending theme song is titled "Yasashii Suisei" translated as "Gentle Comet". It was previously announced that the duo is performing the anime's opening song titled "Kaibutsu".

CG Animation studio Orange is returning to produce the second season and the first season's staff and cast will reprise their roles. The series started airing in Japan's Fuji TV +Ultra anime programming block on January 14 12:55 AM JST.
The first season of the series' TV anime adaptation was animated by CG studio Orange and was aired from October 8 to December 26, 2019 on Fuji TV's +Ultra anime programming block and other channels. Shinichi Matsumi directed the series, with Nanami Higuchi handling series composition, Nao Ootsu designing the characters, and Satoru Kōsaki composing the series' music.
The series is based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Champion since September 2016, with its chapters collected in 20 tankōbon volumes as of August 2020. The manga has won multiple awards, including being the first Akita Shoten title to take home the Manga Taishō Award.
The story takes place in a world of modern, civilized, anthropomorphic animals with a cultural divide between carnivores and herbivores. The series takes its name from the in-universe rank of Beastar, an individual of great talent, service, and notoriety.
