‘JoJolion’ manga ends after 10 years, teases new ‘JOJOLANDS’ sequel

“JoJolion”, the eighth part of Hirohiko Araki’s “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” manga series, has officially ended with its final chapter released Thursday on Shueisha’s Ultra Jump.


The September issue of Ultra Jump featured JoJolion in full-color on the cover and even includes a set of 10 special postcards to commemorate the 10-year-run of the manga.

Thanking his readers and also teasing the upcoming ninth part of the series, Araki said: “Thank you for 10 years of JoJolion! Let's take a break and see you at the new ‘JOJOLANDS’ (tentative).”


Moreover, the magazine announced a spin-off of the JoJo series slated to begin this winter written by Kouhei Kadono (“Shameless Purple Haze” from JoJo, “Boogiepop”) and illustrated by Tasuku Karasuma (“No Guns Life”).


JoJolion began serialization in Shueisha’s seinen magazine Ultra Jump in May 2011. It is written and illustrated by Araki as part of his widely popular JoJo universe.

It follows Josuke Higashikata, who has lost his memory, and is set in the town of Morioh where he hopes to uncover the mysteries of his past. JoJolion is part of the “Steel Ball Run” universe, which is the seventh part of the entire series.


Meanwhile, the TV anime adaptation of “Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean” is set to premiere on Netflix later this December worldwide and in Japan a month later


The new sequel will adapt the manga's Stone Ocean part covering volumes 64–80 with a total of 158 chapters. The story is set in 2011 near Port St. Lucie, Florida where Jotaro Kujo's daughter Jolyne Cujoh is framed for murder and sent to prison. She works together with other Stand-using prisoners to hunt down prison chaplain Father Pucci, loyalist to Dio, seeking the creation of a new universe shaped to his and DIO's will..


Japanese voice actress Ai Fairouz will voice Jolyne Cujoh, the series' protagonist.
