May'N to perform the ending theme song for 'Shikizakura' original TV anime premiering mid-2021

The official Twitter for the original TV anime series 'Shikizakura' has revealed on Wednesday that the ending theme song of the upoming anime series with still-unannounced title will be performed by Japanese singer Mei Nakabayashi better known in her stage name May'N. It was announced previously that Japanese singer Asaka will be performing the opening theme song titled "Believe Myself". The "Shikizakura" original TV anime series will begin broadcasting in the latter half of 2021.


The series is co-produced by Chukyo TV and is animated by animation studio Sublimation. Shinya Sugai is serving as the chief director and Gō Kurosaki as the series director with character design handled by Manabu Nakatake. The series is listed with 12 episodes and is scheduled to finish production in 2020.


The cast includes Yūdai Noda as Kakeru Miwa, Miho Mashiro as Ōka Myōjin, Daisuke Nakamoto as Kippei Nagatsu, Shōto Mizukami as Ryō Hattori, Eri Sakazaki as Kaede Naruse, Natsuki Ochiai as Haruko Yamada, Shingo Yoneyama as Ibara, Miki Yakata as Benio Myōjin, Iwori as Issa Inuzuka, and Yūto Arai as Ukon Kijima.

The series is inspiring a manga adaptation written and illustrated by Hayato Aoki which started its serialization in the February 2021 issue of Futabasha's Monthly Action magazine on December 25, 2020.

High school student Kakeru Miwa, by a strange turn of events, winds up being an irregular member of a power suit team tasked with battling Oni. These Oni possess humans and try to cling to the transient world. Only the power suit, Yoroi, which combines ancient secrets with the latest technology, can protect people from Oni. Kakeru decides to become a hero who will battle Oni and protect Ouka Myoujin, the shrine maiden fated with saving the world.
