The official Twitter for the TV anime adaptation of Coolkyousinnjya's "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid" manga series has announced on Friday that the second season of the anime titled "Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S" is scheduled to begin broadcasting in July 2021. The "S" in the show's second season title stands for "Super Supreme Second life Starts." It also revealed previously that Kyoto Animation will still be in-charge of the animation production. This will be the first full project for a series of Kyoto Animation after the arson attack incident last July 18 of last year.

The TV anime series was an adaptation of Coolkyousinnjya's manga series of the same title that was serialized in Futabasha's Monthly Action magazine in May 2013 and two spin-off manga, one by Mitsuhiro Kimura and the other by Ayami Kazama, are serialized in Monthly Action on December 2016 and August 2017 respectively.

The first season of the TV anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation was aired in Japan between January and April 2017.

Crunchyroll describes the anime as: Miss Kobayashi is your average office worker who lives a boring life, alone in her small apartment–until she saves the life of a female dragon in distress. The dragon, named Tohru, has the ability to magically transform into an adorable human girl (albeit with horns and a long tail!), who will do anything to pay off her debt of gratitude, whether Miss Kobayashi likes it or not. With a very persistent and amorous dragon as a roommate, nothing comes easy, and Miss Kobayashi’s normal life is about to go off the deep end!
