Japanese video game developer and publisher Atlus has revealed on Tuesday that seven new projects will be announced for the Persona series to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the hit series. Announcements will be dropped one by one between September and the Fall season. In addition a special 25th anniversary website was launched today announcing the plans.
The website reads:
“As of 2021, the Persona series has sold over 15 million copies worldwide,” the website reads. “To all of our fans that have supported us for so long, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And this coming September, the Persona series will finally celebrate its 25th anniversary. To show our gratitude, we are preparing a number of celebrations over the one year period from September 2021 to fall 2022.”
“From 25th anniversary goods and various events to game news and more, we will be making all sorts of anniversary announcements. Please look forward to them.”
Persona, also known worldwide as Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, is a role-playing video games series developed and primarily published by Atlus, and under the ownership of game-giant Sega. The first entry in the series, Revelations: Persona, was released in 1996 for the PlayStation.
