RWBY: Ice Queendom, the Japanese 3DCG anime adaptation for American web series RWBY, has released a second promotion video. The TV anime airs on July 3, 2022.
The endeavor is led by Team RWBY Project, whose main staff is composed of Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus), Tow Ubukata, huke, Toshimasa Suzuki, and Studio Shaft.
RWBY is set in the fictional world of Remnant, where young people train to become warriors (called "Huntsmen" and "Huntresses") to protect their world from monsters called Grimm. The name RWBY is derived from the four main protagonists' initials: Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang, and their respective theme colors (red, white, black and yellow).
The second PV features the show's opening theme song Beyond Selves by Void_Chords feat. L. It also introduces original character Shion Zaiden (CV: Hiroki Nanami), a Nightmare hunter.
The previously announced ending theme song is Awake, sung by Saori Hayami (the voice of protagonist Ruby Rose), composed by Japanese singer TK from the rock band Ling tosite Sigure.
