Soccer anime 'Ao Ashi' releases PV for second cour in July 2022

In the second cour, Ashito Aoi continues to evolve at a rapid pace. But with his evolution comes heavier trials as he struggles to go pro.

A teaser video has been released for the upcoming second cour of soccer anime Ao Ashi.


The TV anime has been airing since April 9, 2022. The second cour starts on July 2, 2022. As with the first cour, the second cour is produced by Production I.G.

In the second cour, protagonist Ashito Aoi (CV: Kōki Ohsuzu) continues to evolve at a rapid pace at the Tokyo Esperion Youth Academy. But with his evolution comes heavier trials of how difficult it is to go pro.


The teaser also introduces the second cour's opening theme song Presence by Jrock group Superfly. The second cour's ending theme song will be Love Letter of Color Lily (カラー・リリィの恋文) by Kami wa Saikoro wo Furanai (神はサイコロを振らない).


Ao Ashi is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūgo Kobayashi, based on a concept by Naohiko Ueno. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine Weekly Big Comic Spirits since January 2015.


As of June 2022, the manga has over 12 million copies in circulation. In 2020, the manga won the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category.
