With the many, many anime titles coming this Winter 2022, we also have an equally long list of interesting music artists to add to our playlists.

Today, we're featuring jazz group MONONKVL (pronounced as Mononkul) who sings the ending theme Salvation for the second cour of The Case Study of Vanitas, scheduled to air on Jan. 14, 2022.

Their music is an interesting choice for this series, with a modern, more upbeat sound that contrasts to the mood of the Beast of Gévaudan story arc. We'd say the title is very, very fitting for Vanitas' character though, so we can't wait to hear this song again coupled with more scenes from the actual series.

The single "Salvation" will be released in Japan on Feb. 23, 2022.

About MONONKVL

MONONKVL (Japanese: モノンクル, Romaji: Mononkuru) is a Japanese jazz-pop duo formed in 2011 consisting of Sara Yoshida (吉田沙良、vocal) and Ryuta Tsunoda (角田隆太、bass).

They are famous for the album Sekai wa Kokonishika Naitte Jyozuni Itte (Japanese: 世界はここにしかないって上手に言って, Rough English: Say it, The World is Only Here) which topped the jazz charts on Spotify and Apple Music in 2017. They also released the album Reloading City in 2018 which garnered a solo performance at the Blue Note Tokyo jazz club.

Their song Every One Minute was featured in the commercial for CITIZEN's 「シチズン」xC watch line in 2020. As of 2021, their latest release is Daite HOLD ON ME! 「抱いてHOLD ON ME!」
