'The Irregular at Magic High School' unveils new visuals and release date for 'Reminiscence Arc'

The new key visual and details for The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc anime have just been released.

The visual, which was released to the official Twitter account for "The Irregular at Magic High School", shows the siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki standing by the sea.


The Reminiscence arc will focus on the past of main characters, siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki. The troubled family that they both came from, and the secrets that will be revealed. It will act as a special prequel anime, set before the events of the main anime and spin-offs. The anime is set to be released in the winter of 2021 to 2022.


The cast for the upcoming anime was also revealed. Yuichi Nakamura has returned to play Tatsuya, and Saori Hayami is back as Muyiki. Other actors have also joined the cast, like Kikuko Inoue and Aya Endo.



The official staff for the anime was also unveiled. The project will be directed by Risako Yoshida, with assistant direction by Jimmy Stone. Screenplay will be by Muneo Nakamoto of Lightworks. Kana Ishida will be both character designer and executive producer. Sakura Komatsu will be color deisnger. Hiroki Kawashita is director of photography, photography will be by MADBOX, and editing will be by Yoshiko Kimura. Sound direction is by Satoshi Motoyama, while music will be by Taku Iwasaki. The animatio studio responsible is 8-Bit, which was also the studio that animated "The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc"

"The Irregular at Magic High School" is a fantasy anime, adapted from the light novel by Tsutomu Satou. It is set in an alternate world where magic has been discovered and studied as a science. In this world, magic can be studied in special institutions and schools. The First High School is one of those institutions that teach those with magical potential to be magicians. Here, siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba enter the school and find themselves separated into different categories based on their magical potential: "Blooms" that are the achievers, and "Weeds:


The story focuses on how Tatsuya, who is believed to be a powerless Weed, shakes the status quo as he seemingly possesses more powers and knowledge than previously believed.
