A trailer video has been released for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Fuuto PI, slated to air on Aug. 1, 2022. The anime is produced by Studio Kai.
Fuuto PI originated as a manga series written by Riku Sanjo and illustrated by Masaki Sato. It serves as a sequel to the Kamen Rider W television series. Fuuto PI has been serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits since August 2017.
Fuuto PI takes place after Kamen Rider W Returns: Kamen Rider Accel,. Protagonist Shotaro Hidari (CV: Yoshimasa Hosoya) is a private detective who works at Narumi Detective Agency with his partner Raito "Philip" Sonozaki (CV: Koki Uchiyama), the sole survivor of the Sonozaki family. Together they transform into Kamen Rider W, who protects the city of Fuuto from Dopants, monsters created by Gaia Memories.
One day, Shotaro encounters an amnesiac pink-haired girl named Tokime (CV: Akira Sekine), who is being targeted by Dopants. After saving her, they decide to hire her at Narumi Detective Agency as their assistant.
The featured theme song is Sin, Punishment, and Underground (Japanese: 罪と罰とアングラ; Romaji: Tsumi to Batsu to Undagura). It is composed and produced by Koji Kikkawa, with lyrics and vocals by Mitsuru Matsuoka.
