Japanese publication Shinchosha announced on Wednesday that 76-year-old prolific author Haruki Murakami will be releasing a new novel in April, nearly six years after his last publication.
Little detail was given about the new work which is scheduled to be released on April 13, and even the title and plot were not disclosed. The book will be released first in Japanese and the translated versions coming in the near future.
Murakami is an internationally renowned writer who authored the best-selling books "Hear the Wind Sing," "Norwegian Wood," "1Q84," and "Kafka on the Shore," for which he won the 2006 World Fantasy Award. His last novel, "Killing Commendatore," was published in 2017.
