Waking up to a whole new world – filled to the brim with things and places you never imagined existed – now right before your very eyes? Worry not, dear traveler, for this is the ultimate 7-step guide to Surviving in an Isekai World!

1. Talk to the locals.
KonoSuba: God's Blessing in this Wonderful World

No one else knows the current situation of the town better than its’ natives! Learn about the town history and culture, meet a friendly tour guide to take you to the hot spots in town, and introduce you to the townsfolk. Once you’re familiar with your surroundings, it is good to acquire a map of it in order to keep track of landmarks like the local magic shop, blacksmith and market to revisit later on.

2. Learn about magic.
Log Horizon

All sorts of magic thrive in an isekai world, and it’s up to you to discover and master it. Apprentice for a sorcerer or sorceress who will show you the ropes when it comes to using magic. Visit the local library and peruse through the archives to help you study. Do beware though, as sorcery is a dangerous craft and can easily go awry. Regardless, being able to use magic will help you immensely as you set out to explore, so don’t be afraid to try it out!

3. Form a party.
Rising of the Shield Hero

Setting out for an adventure is no easy feat. Having a party to join you on your journey will definitely make the experience more fun! Another benefit of having a party is sharing and pooling resources. Choosing party members that have skills and traits compatible with your own will ensure the expedition of a lifetime.

4. Level up your skills.

Having party members would mean opportunities to learn various skills, particularly when each party member specializes in different things. A party could be composed of a combat specialist, strategist, healer and many more. Don’t miss out on trying your hand in different fields, as these skills may come in handy in the future!

5. Duel with the boss.

When evil is near, have no fear! Save the town from any threat of destruction and be revered as a legendary hero. Doing so also opens up many new quests to take. Defeating bosses may also result in obtaining rare items, so keep an eye out for them.

6. Hunt for treasure.

Speaking of rare items, a ton of them can be found in an isekai world. Rare items could be anything – from a flower to a gemstone – if you know what you’re looking for, go out and explore to find them. They can be found by completing quests, beating a boss or even by chance! Keeping them in your possession may boost your skills and power, but chances are, these items are also worth a pretty penny. Present them to different magic shops, blacksmiths and markets to see who offers the highest price they are willing to pay. After all, money makes the world go ‘round!

7. Immerse in culture.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

Every town has traditions unique to them. Catch wind of cultural events like festivals and holidays for the season! Indulge in delicacies and complete mini quests to be rewarded a hefty sum or even better, rare items. Don’t forget to check the stores and market too! There may be some items in store that are only available for a specific season.

Once you follow these 7 steps, you’ll surely be able to face any isekai world head on!
