'BanG Dream! Episode of Roselia I: Promise' anime film reveals main trailer, set to open on April 23

The official YouTube channel of Bushiroad's BanG Dream! game franchise has revealed on Wednesday the main trailer for the upcoming the music rhythm game's first anime film titled "BanG Dream! Episode of Roselia I: Promise". The film is scheduled to premiere on April 23, 2021 in Japanese theaters.

The story follows the game's gothic J-Rock band Roselia consisting of its five members, namely Minato Yukina on vocals, Hikawa Sayo on guitar, Udagawa Ako on drums, Shirokane Rinko on the keyboard, and Imai Lisa on bass.

This movie is just the first of the three films that Bushiroad teased on its official BanG Dream! YouTube channel last April 2020. The second planned is titled BanG Dream! Episode of Roselia II: Song I am. that will also hit Japanese theaters in 2021. The third movie, BanG Dream! Poppin’ Dream!, is planned to be released in 2022.

BanG Dream!, more commonly known as "Bandori" is a Japanese music media franchise owned by Bushiroad. Created by Bushiroad president Takaaki Kidani in January 2015 with original story by Kō Nakamura, the project began as a manga before expanding to other media. In addition to other manga, BanG Dream! includes an anime television series, live concerts, singles and albums, and the mobile rhythm game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! by Craft Egg.
