The official Twitter of Code Geass Project for Sunrise's 'Code Geass' TV anime series has announced on Thursday a special edition of the franchise’s first installment ‘Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion’ to air in October with new opening and ending themes. The special broadcast is part of the “Code Geass Next 10years Project” in line with the upcoming 15th anniversary of the series. The re-broadcast will stream on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS' Animeism programming blocks.

The new opening theme will be performed by Japanese five-member rock band, FLOW with the ending track from TK (Toru Kitajima) of Ling Tosite Sigure, a Japanese rock trio.

Comments from FLOW:

It has been 15 years since "COLORS". I am glad that the story of Lelouch and others will be colored with FLOW music over time.
"Code Geass" is a special work for the band who was in charge of the first and last OP. This time as well, we had a close discussion with the production team, including Director Taniguchi, to produce the film. Those who know the time are also studded with gimmicks that can be grinned, so I hope you will enjoy it while re-experiencing the story.
If you are new to Code Geass, I hope you will come into contact with the world of "Code Geass" that continues from here.

It was recalled that the group performed the first OP of the series titled “COLORS”.

Comments from TK of Ling Tosite Sigure:

Congratulations on the 15th anniversary of the "Code Geass" series.
It is a great honor to be able to breathe new life into such a masterpiece animation over a long period of time. After seeing all the stages of the work, I was able to imagine what I could see in the future, even though I was almost drowning in the charm. Dedicated with despair to color the elaborate and bold story and its beauty as much as possible.

To kick off the Next 10years Project, a smartphone game “Code Geass Genesic Re; CODE” is set to launch this August. A new TV anime installment titled “Code Geass: Z of the Recapture” which continues from the latest anime film franchise “Lelouch of the Re;surrection” is also expected to premiere soon.

Due to its immense popularity the series was followed with the development of its sequel titled "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2" which was aired from April 6, 2008 to September 2008 with another 25 episodes.
