Hiromu Arakawa's hit series Fullmetal Alchemist is releasing not one, but two new live-action films titled Fullmetal Alchemist: Vengeance of Scar and The Last Transmutation. Vengeance of Scar will premiere in Japan on May 20, 2022 while The Last Transmutation will premiere on June 24, 2022.

The film is produced by OXYBOT and distributed by Warner Bros. Japan. These two films are sequels to the 2017 live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie. All three films mentioned are directed by Fumihiko Sori.

For Vengeance of Scar and The Last Transmutation, Ryosuke Yamada (山田涼介) will be reprising his role as Edward Elric, while Mackenyu Arata (新田真剣佑) will be starring as Scar.

As the title suggests, Vengeance of Scar will cover Scar's story arc wherein he targeted the State Alchemists, while The Last Transmutation will cover the final confrontation between the Elric brothers and their father, Hohenheim.
