High fantasy anime 'Kaina of the Great Snow Sea' releases teaser video for January 2023 broadcast

The earth and sky meet through Kaina and Liliha in Kaina of the Great Snow Sea, airing in January 2023.

A teaser video has been released for upcoming original TV anime Kaina of the Great Snow Sea (Romaji: ÅŒyukiumi no Kaina).


The high fantasy anime is slated to air on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block in January 2023. It is animated by Polygon Pictures as their 40th anniversary project.

This original anime is the brainchild of award-winning manga artist Tsutomu Nihei, who is best known for his work Knights of Sidonia.


In the universe of Kaina of the Great Snow Sea, the earth is on the verge of disappearing as it is gradually enveloped by the eponymous snow sea. Kaina (CV: Yoshimasa Hosoya), a boy who lives on the sky's surface, encounters Liliha (CV: Rie Takahashi), a girl who lives on the earth's surface.
