'Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni' announces anime film adaptation in Spring 2023

The romance fantasy features a royal couple trying to fall in love for the sake of their respective countries.

Official channels have announced an anime film adaptation of Nao Iwamoto's romance fantasy manga Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni (Land of Gold Land of Water). It is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2023.


The film will be animated by Madhouse under the direction of Kotono Watanabe (director of Btooom!, assistant director of Chihayafuru)


The romance series stars Princess Sarah from Land A and Prince Naranbayar from Land B. They are supposed to fall in love and get married in order to repair the relationship between their two countries.


Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni (Japanese: 金の国 水の国, English: Land of Gold Land of Water) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Nao Iwamoto. It was serialized in Shogakukan's Flower Comics α Special from October 2014 to April 2016, with its chapters collected into one tankōbon volume released on July 8, 2016.
