Netflix's Philippine folklore anime series 'TRESE' is now streaming worldwide

TRESE, Netflix's original anime series adaptation of Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo’s popular Filipino comic book series of the same name is now streaming globally exclusively on Netflix. The series has been listed with 6 episodes with a duration of 25 - 33 minutes each episode in Filipino, English, Japanese and Spanish dub.

The story of Trese fuses Philippine horror mythology with dark, graphic storytelling and follows Alexandra Trese, a mysterious detective who deals with crimes of supernatural origin mainly occurring in the capital region of the Philippines.

Here’s the official synopsis of Trese, from Netflix:

Set in Manila where the mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding amongst humans, Alexandra Trese finds herself going head to head with a criminal underworld composed of malevolent supernatural beings.

The series is directed by Filipino director and showrunner Jay Oliva (“Justice League Dark,” “The Legend of Korra”), and produced by Jakarta and Singapore-based BASE Entertainment. Actress Liza Soberano is voicing the main protagonist 'Alexandra Trese' in the Filipino dub, whereas Shay Mitchell will be taking her on in the English dub. Other cast also includes Jon Jon Briones, Dante Basco, Darren Criss, Nicole Scherzinger, and more for the English dub, and Simon dela Cruz, Apollo Abraham, Christopher Carlo Caling, Christian Velarde, Eugene Adalia, and more for the Filipino dub.
