Bandai Namco Group’s online shopping site Premium Bandai announced the release of a brand new Proplica — Bandai’s brand for props and replicas — item from the highly popular manga and anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: a full-scale replica of Zenitsu Agatsuma’s Nichirin Blade with all the brilliance and flair of the character’s thunder breathing style. Pre-order reservations can be made through Premium Bandai’s site and the replica goes for 13,200 yen a piece with delivery scheduled for December. Check out the product’s introductory video below:

The replica is 880 mm in total length beautifully designed with the yellow lightning patterns throughout the blade, much like the look in the anime. The sword has the ability to play 60 different sounds, including sound effects, background music, and Zenitsu’s famous lines (e.g., crushing on Nezuko, asking someone to marry him, hysterical screams in fear of demons, and attack names). For the first time, Proplica included a sheath with this specific nichirin blade replica (Tanjrio and Rengoku have their own unsheathed versions) which has a magnetic sensor that allows wielders to recreate Zenitsu’s iconic quick-drawing iaijutsu with matching attack names and sounds. The replica comes with a dedicated pedestal that allows you to showcase the blade and sheath in style. Unleash your inner demon slayer and practice the thunder breathing form!

The series is based on the "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" manga written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020, and its chapters collected in 21 tankōbon volumes as of July 2020. The anime series has received critical acclaim, with critics praising the animation and fight sequences. It has been considered one of the best anime of the 2010s, and has received numerous awards. The title’s recent movie Demon Slayer: Mugen Train was a huge success that had a box office total of over $500 million which made it the highest-grossing film of 2020. Excitement continues to build up as the second season approaches.

Aniplex of America describes the television anime's story:

It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself. Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human, and kill the demon that massacred his family.
